Remember, Be Here Now

Seneca

Seneca (c. 4 BC - AD 65)

“Wild animals run from the dangers they actually see, and once they have escaped them worry no more…”

- Seneca Letters from a Stoic (Letter VI)

Living in the present. What a blessing. What peace. Everywhere life echoes one great message, and whispers,  Remember, Be Here Now.”

Whether it comes from Ram Dass, or Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now or Seneca, it all comes down to one thing.

Now…

Seneca continues:

“… We however are tormented alike by what is past and what is to come. A number of our blessings do us harm, for memory brings back the agony of fear while foresight brings it on prematurely. No one confines his unhappiness to the present.”

Note: The original was too big to fit on my scanner, so I did some digital cut and paste to fit it together. This is not intended to be perfect for framing.

One more thing… Don’t spend too much time zoomed in on that guy or girl you had a crush on 40 years ago.
